the strike ends and the anger lingers

I think throughout the several days of the strike it was interesting to hear of folks struggle...whether it was the workers who were striking, the commuters, fellow new yorkers, and/or outside observers...to me, it showed yet more reasons why our country is so bitterly divided...I heard or read about people who walked miles to get to their job in the cold...I read about people who complained that their drivers took too long to get to their homes to pick them up...I read about people who hated taking a company shuttle because they had to be stuck with so-and-so that they couldn't stand...the inconveniences that people were stricken with told tales of how much of a divide there was between the have's and the have-not's...so many people were extremely angry...some of the interesting comments that put things in perspective from the union's standpoint can be read here
while others talk about the racial overtones and others talk class divides...I understand the argument that the strike hurts lower and middle class people perhaps just as much as the elite and wealthy...but I think ultimately what it did was show the elite and the powerful that the worker bees can defy the queen and perhaps have more power than the elite ever want to admit...so wrapped in all of the rhetoric and straining opinions, what do you think?
